Consider age in your selection, you can find very young women, but, remember that you will have less chances with too young Russian woman. Her education and profession indicate her intellectual level. Her English level tells you if communication will be easy or if you will need a translator. What if she has children? Typically three letters are enough to know if further correspondence could make sense. Send the women you stop corresponding with, a letter to thank them for showing interest.

Writing and email is fine, but nothing replaces personal contact, which is costly as well as time consuming.
